Week Two 23/09/2014 was very Productive and enjoyable

Week 2 of the Indian Cookery for the beginners was really productive and enjoyable with 12 Learners in the Kitchen, everyone really did well to finish on time.

We created paneer (Indian Cheese) from full fat milk, then we cooked this with number of spices peas and cashew nuts, as our side dish see photo below:

The second dish was very simple producing Kidney or Chickpeas beans curry, by creating a sauce with onions, spices and tomatoes, very easy to make and at a fraction of a cost, see photo of chickpeas curry below:

One day course on Indian starters and spices on the Saturday 6th September 10.00 till 14.00

This is an introductary course to learn about indian cooking all cramped in half day, it will cover understanding of spices and why we use them in a particular way for Indian cooking, will make vegetarian and starters Onion Bhajis (pakoras) and Jeera Chicken and chutneys..

Saturdays course fully subscribed and  was a huge success , there were 11 Learners who really enjoyed producing Onion Bajis,  Jeera Chicken and Kebabs and learning about various spices and their benefits in Indian cooking.  -great group pleasure to teach..

Overview of the course

This is an exciting and fun introductory course to learn about the basics of  Indian cooking, all rolled into one day.

The course will begin with explaining about different spices and why we use them in a particular way for Indian cooking. You will then make a variety of vegetarian and meat starters which includes

  • Alloo tikki
  •  Bajis
  • Shammi kebabs
  • Jeera chicken
  • Chutneys.

Indian Cooking the next step Week 4 ( 18/03/2014)

It was great to see all, had a great cooking session,  There  were two dishes, we produced a Lamb chop curry  and Prawn special. Every one did so well and also managed to finish on time. I also managed to make Methi Paranthas and had a tasting session ..
